OUR HISTORY
A Historic Retreat on the Big Niangua River
Riverbird Winery is located on a historic property overlooking the Big Niangua River in Camdenton, Missouri.
In 1930, Austrian-born St. Louis industrialist Hugo Urbauer and his wife, Ina, created a private retreat on the river. The historic lodge was built using hand-quarried stone from the surrounding area and later became known as the Mozark Millionaires’ Rod & Reel Club.
The property has long been a place for people to escape, gather, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Ozarks. Today, Riverbird Winery carries that tradition forward in a new way.
What was once a private river retreat is now a place where locals, lake visitors, friends, and families can come together over wine and food while enjoying live music and the views that have made this property special for generations.
